each year on 9/11
and the anniversary
of the day
that brought forth
the cry
“Boston Strong” ~
we surely remember
our fallen people
brothers and sisters
husbands and wives
sons and daughters
nephews and nieces
uncles and aunts
our civil
and military servants
our heroes
and their families
loved ones
stricken with grief
from the losses suffered
through hate filled intent
the blood drenched
act
of
premeditated
first
degree murder
rained down
from the sky
or along the side
of a street
upon the unsuspecting
and distracted people
who were nothing more
than out and about
innocently
breathing
an every day life
each year on 9/11
and the anniversary
of the day
that brought forth
the cry
“Boston Strong” ~
we surely remember
what happened on such days
as these
was terrorism
pure and simple
not the act of war
or an “eye for an eye”
nor some God mandated
retaliation in kind
’cause of the act
of another against you
~ a clear cut distinction
must be made ~
and shall not be forgotten
within the annuls of time
despite
the noble
and righteous objective
calling for peace
the hoped for
eradication of violence
throughout
the bloodstained earth
caused by
the evolutionary plight
of humanity
regardless of
the sanctified
justification
claimed to be found
the God given right
deemed appropriate
so to enact a cruel
and uncaring vengeance
hatefully
and wrongfully fed
by an uncivilized intelligence
who commit
terrorizing murder
by attempting to mesh
and blur
the distinction
between terrorist acts
and war …….
….. war is not a fitting
descriptive
behavior
in defining
the character traits
of terrorism
nor in this modern world
the implied inference
to the act of battle
“The rules of fair play
do not apply in love and war.”
each year on 9/11
and the anniversary
of the day
that brought forth
the cry
“Boston Strong” ~
we surely remember
may we learn
from our commemorations
especially so
through the horrific acts
unleashed upon us
We the people
if we blur
the lines of acts
such as the defined layers
separating
and distinguishing
murder
violence
war
and terrorism
especially
within the context
of acts
perpetrated on the innocent
those not directly responsible
to invoke
such premeditated
acts
of retaliation
by submerging them
within the complexity
of a world
still far from peaceful
to escalate
the urgency
of our cause …..
……. then due to
our haste and impatience
for wanting to bring
about a world
less violent
and more peaceful
we in the end
may not only
inhibit the cause
but also
the intelligent progression
of We the people
throughout the world
who have chosen
to believe in and support
the cooperative
process of civilization
the ideal to live
and get along
with one another
through the rules
of fair play
and how these rules apply
clearly and distinctly
with acts of terrorism
war
violence
murder
and even
the acts of love
and peace ….
~ may We the people
never fall asleep again
while doing every day things
within a world
not yet at peace
and still teeming
with the act of terrorism
an act not a part of
the more civilized
rules of fair play
but distinctly
and precisely
premeditated
first degree murder
each year on 9/11
and the anniversary
of the day
that brought forth
the cry
“Boston Strong” ~
we surely remember
peace out
