as the republic
slides down
into the dark pit
of despot/
corporate type rule
a reversal of fortune
seems eerily improbable ~
even if the tide
can be turned again
as once before
it will be short lived
the opposing forces
are set in stone
the common ground
has withered away
and the majority
the middle
apparently apathetic
focused on the day to day
with no energy left
for participation

so it seems ……
maybe it’s time for
a real DEMOCRACY ~
