are WE of the sort
who embodies a spirit
that so yearns for
a real DEMOCRACY
NOT just ANY OLD kind
would do ….. but ONE
of which lends it-SELF
to the ongoing SURVIVAL
and LIBERTY for all
lovers of DEMOCRACY
those of US with a propensity
for SELF-responsibility
that would manifest in more
than just resistance ~ but into
total REVOLUTION if necessary
where OUR earnest efforts
could prevail and then bestow
rights adjudicated under LIBERTY
as to the FREEDOMS of movement ~
choice ~ speech ~ equality ~
justice and prosperity
for ALL of US who participated in
the STEPS to a real DEMOCRACY …..
regardless of what others choose
whether to support
or even somehow take back
to restore a once was republic
NOW controlled through
a despot/corporate type rule
empowered by some
of the super-rich ~

those of US ….. lovers of DEMOCRACY
NOW the resistance for REBELLION
who want to inspire others into action
against the once was republic
that quite frankly
from the beginning
seemed destined not to become
a real DEMOCRACY
but instead ~ over ~ time
reverted back to a form
of despotism ….. and no doubt ~
many the excuse or reason
can be given for the republic’s
regression into a majority
despot/corporate type rule
empowered by some
of the super rich ~
and yet ….. it does appear
the most telling reason of all
was due to a lack of participation ~
overall ~ from WE the people
in the democratic process …..
quite telling as well
was not enough participation
in COALITION building
among differing group interests
with a mutual focus on
the attainment and preservation
of a real DEMOCRACY ~
this seems the challenge
those of US ….. lovers of DEMOCRACY
NOW the resistance for REBELLION
who want to inspire others into action

what good would it be
to take back the ground
of the once was “land of the free”
only after such a REVOLUTION
WE lose it all again by repeating
the same old crapola from the past …..
it seems to me ~ WE gotta change
OUR course of action
and together formulate new STEPS
for achieving a real DEMOCRACY ~
steps to end gerrymandering
and voter suppression
~ manipulation
of the Electoral College
where it’s no longer all about
the money ~ the swing state
and a disinformation campaign
the spread of misinformation
~ WE the people need to elect
a representative government
one that truly listens and administers
the WILL of the people
that accommodates every stripe
and color regardless of education
and economic status …..
~ WE must come to recognize
the two party system
as inadequate and only from
coalition building
not coercion or conversion
but by consensus
will WE lovers of DEMOCRACY
get those who don’t participate
to find reassurance that
LAW is KING and the guarantee
of equality ~ choice and rights
come from earnest participation in
the steps to a real DEMOCRACY

why the need for

lovers of DEMOCRACY
is the trumpet ready to sound
the moment seems nearer
than others may think
or are afraid to say so
they may not want to admit it
~ offering the excuse
we don’t want to because

OUR resolve for IT
may soon be tested
will WE be prepared
when the puppet enforcer

come knockin’ at the door
after declaring martial law
will WE submit ~
go along with the crowd
join their ranks
and turn in a neighbor
or be defiant and go to prison
would WE hide ~
pretend to play along
until WE can run to escape
over some border
will some of US stay behind
join the resistance and fight
take part in the REVOLUTION
for DEMOCRACY SAKE ~
lovers of DEMOCRACY
let’s not panic or piss ourselves
WE should think about it
become prepared
have a plan TOGETHER
and be ready to take action
