that’s right ~

human rights ….
for all humans
that’s right   ~
all humanity
all rights
equally
available
to all

human rights …..
without exception

that’s right   ~

a humanity
who supports
the rights
of all humans

without question

that’s right   ~
human rights …..
crystal clear
so why
then
this disconnect
for some humans   ~

what you expected …..

you’ve not walked
in my shoes
seen what I’ve seen
felt what I’ve felt
my life
is a closed book
to you
a story
you’ve not read   ~
~    why not get lost
within the experience
of me
one chapter
at a time
the conclusion
may be not
what you expected ….
……    I just may
capture
your interest
from beginning
to end
not even being
able to put
me down
until the next book
in the series
is written

about you and me

peace out

without deviation

I live the same way
day after day
hardly
without
deviation

early to rise
asleep before 8:30 PM
first to work
leave late
the evening news
provider
of all the highlights
occasionally spiced up
with someone knocking
at the front door
the weekends
not much different
except
work is at home
watch some sports
have a few beers
I remember
the ex-wife
called me boring
I smile fondly
as I nod off
in my special chair
the voices on TV
keep me company

I live the same way
day after day
hardly
without
deviation

enough said

peace out

the lesson in death

as the last few years
have gone by
tears flowed
regularly
down the cheeks
of my face
across
my quivering lips
while I sobbed
myself to sleep
in the watery
salty pool
of my grief
’cause loved ones
family and friends
have passed away
some peacefully
as symbolized
by the dove
and others
suddenly  ~
violently
as the guillotine
of old portrayed  ~  taken
by the horrors
that only
a vile human
who lacks morality
could perpetrate ……

….    what is the lesson in death
other than being dead
no longer alive   ~

I have learned
to better appreciate
with each passing
the loss of a life
by whatever means
to remember
celebrate
and cherish
the life lived
as this great treasure
to be preserved
and that
black-robed skeleton
with the scythe
the grim reaper
I give
not much time
or value to at all

peace out

our differences – prayer for peaceful coexistence

how do we survive
as a people
when some of our kind
have seemingly
gone mad
are out of control
have no boundaries
they won’t cross
set no limits
as to the acts
of violence
and the carnage
they are willing
to leave behind
without conscience
so to instill fear
within the minds
of those
they’ve deemed
conquerable
and pawns for sacrifice

let us the people
of this earth
who yearn
for a peaceful
coexistence
not become fearful
but rather
be willing to see
the wisdom had
in setting aside
our differences
so to become
united
within
the strength
of our diversity
and then
through such
a noble bond
of integrity
we shall be able
to set limits
and place boundaries
on those
who have chosen
to have none
as to the acts
of violence
and the carnage
they are willing
to leave behind
without conscience

peace out

move on …..

oh how I hate
a gloomy ….   rainy day
the feeling
it casts over me
is not welcoming
this darkness
seemingly like
a black hole
the gateway
to the void

bottomless
no way out   ~

~   believe me
I’ve tried to appreciate
a gloomy ….   rainy day
its worth
its
eternal
function
but with that said
it ain’t
never  ~  ever
gonna be
my friend

I pray for this day
to serve its purpose
and then
move on …..

peace out

not happenstance

love   ~   not happenstance
some kind of mist
out and about…..   doing
its magical dance
on the human experience
pervasive
and undeniable
trance like in effect
a zombie transformation

love   ~   a positive energy
taught by those
who embrace its value
then spread like pollen
in the wind
seeded
through example
and deed
commitment
and struggle

love   ~   an intelligently
progressive
an transforming process
within the ever-evolving
human ….
lived
experience

peace out

beholden – prayer to end hate

who hears the call
for education
choice
opportunity
and equality for all
that persistent voice
the steady howl
within
the winds
of change
along its journey
to fill the ears
of the captive child
taught to hate
instead of shown
the tender beauty
serenity
and integrity
beholden
to love’s virtue

peace out
