fractal matrix ~ common milkweed

it looked as if to be
this kind of ship….. emerging
from a nebulous type wormhole
out on the fringe of deep space
but in reality…..  though  ~
not some world…. churning
with vibrant imagination
it is this common milkweed
at the end of its days
in late fall….. waiting
patiently
for the chilly wind
to catch
its fluffy part
and blow about
its seed   ~
or maybe
just maybe
an unclear
precognitive vision…. undergoing
psychic fabrication of   ~
this kind of ship….. emerging
from a nebulous type wormhole
out on the fringe of deep space
with this mission
from earth to carry
the seed of humanity
through time
within the fractal matrix
of multidimensional reality

Dedicated to Regina Walker and her photography, which inspires the images taken with my Smartphone camera, later to find collaboration with my poetic words.

asphalt sculptures

deceptively alluring… reflecting
this illusion of water
being like some oasis
for rejuvenation
where the floating leaf
draws attention away
from the oily slick
and what may lie beneath
the surface…. stuck
ice age creatures
preserved as fossils
asphalt sculptures
in the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits

parabolic reflector ~ dedicated to Bob Sharples

panels of stainless steal
asked to be dulled
in intensity

as once was
though…..
not built so
intentionally
parabolic reflector
home to LA Phil
named Disney Concert Hall
on this glorious day
its shapely framework
is no longer
some generator of energy
that beams down heat
on local condominiums
but rather
this elegant
architectural
adornment
with a skyward
focal point
Los Angeles City Hall

Dedicated to Bob Sharples for our intelligent conversation, I now cherish on that day in Los Angeles.

nobility

as pure as the nobility
of the blue sky above
is not the integrity of word
deemed a trustworthy act
to honor and uphold
without deviation  ~  or is there
no conscience to bear
for the malice caused
through such a shallow
and valueless betrayal……
from no integrity of word
…….. seemingly so
beneath the nobility
of the blue sky above

smile of wonderment

I peer from the pier
along the plane of water
called ocean
to the land’s edge
where the beach
is before
highly priced houses
stretched across
the southbound shore
shrouded
by a gray sky…..
normally
on such
a sunless morning
I’d feel a teardrop
of sadness on my cheek
not an usual occurrence
for a depressive like me
but not today
even when
the light pole
in front of me
itself   ~
beams no light… giving
no hope for
a bright sky
and yet
sun rays   ~
suddenly
spread open
the clouds…. reaching
down…. touching
that pole….. making
it a beacon
of encouragement
my spirit is uplifted
’cause
the smile of wonderment
begins to shine
on my face

lucky star

you mask feeling
beneath the glare
of your projection
which distorts
the longing
that feeds your soul

hopefully…..
…..some…..day

you’ll feel
and clearly see
what’s before you
is what
you’ve longed for   ~
~   all along   ~   me

I’ll thank
my lucky star
the one without
its own name
other than
that generic word….

sun

image with words….

when the world is at rest… I arise
early to write what I think
despite what is popular
I bring forth into words my reality
one letter at a time
on my Smartphone keypad
I create what I call… a story poem
based around an image
I captured
with one push of the button
on the screen of my Smartphone camera

only in NYC…

only in NYC… out the window
of the Carlton Arms Hotel
well maybe
possible
somewhere else in the world
can a person be awoke
@ 3 in the morning
by a sea of taxi cabs
jammed together  ~  beeping
their horns
’cause of some problem
up the street…. people talkin’
loudly as they abandon cabs
who due to impatience
would rather walk than sit

can’t sleep now…
but that ain’t nuttin new
gotta head back to Boston
one thing is for sure
the sounds
emblematic of NYC
charm and character
will be replaying
again & again
in my head   ~
