\nor at least for some
\nhow they feel for another
\ncan go from once being hot
\nto the frigid cold
\nand so it may be with you and me
\nor at least for one of us
\nwho wants to say goodbye
\nbut for some reason just can’t
\nmaybe to save face
\nI don’t know for sure<\/p>\n
all I know is feelings have changed
\nI feel I have been judged…\u00a0 labeled
\nput out in the cold
\nsentenced to do time
\nout in the proverbial pergola
\nwhich due to conditions
\nis not fit for survival
\nuntil I give up and then walk away<\/p>\n
it has been said \u00a0~\u00a0 “if you love something,
\nlet it go\u2026 If it comes back to you,
\nits yours forever. If it doesn’t,
\nthen it was never meant to be.”<\/p>\n
I don’t believe that to be true….
\nif you love someone
\nyou never want to let go….
\nyour intent is to keep trying
\nyou don’t let judgments
\nand the assigning of labels
\nget in the way
\nruin what you have
\nnever able to look past
\nimperfections
\nbe able to forgive
\nif you stay true to your heart
\ndespite what happens
\nin the end
\nno questions
\nremain unanswered
\nyou know you gave it your best
\nbut that’s me \u00a0~ \u00a0it may not be you<\/p>\n
if so…. \u00a0just say goodbye
\n’cause I never will
\nif you want to walk….\u00a0 walk
\nI can learn to live with
\n“it was never meant to be.”
\nas far as how you see it<\/p>\n
