\nI first felt her warmth
\nin the 6th grade
\nshe ended up marrying
\none of my dearest friends
\nand together had
\na magnificent son
\nwho is a son to me now
\nover the years
\nlike the tides of the sea
\ndue to circumstances
\nwe have drifted in and out
\nof each others lives
\nin later years
\nas I quickly approach
\nmy sixties
\nI have become
\na social activist artist
\nand the spectacular her
\nher struggle
\nthe good with the bad
\nhas brought her forth
\nas a Mark Twain
\nHalley’s Comet type
\nto become one of
\nmy most influential muses
\n~ RLF
\nher family life’s history
\nhas inspired
