This poem is dedicated to my poetry mentor and tireless peace activist friend David Eberhardt from Baltimore.<\/p>\n
one voice laying fallow
\nseemingly
\nnot by choice
\nbut suspended
\nin the mist
\nof the cloudy murmur
\nthe accumulative many
\na lone voice
\non a holding pattern
\nwith a dwindling
\namount of fuel
\nif not heard
\nit will eventually
\ntumble from the sky
\nto crash and burn
\ninto a pile of ash and smolder
\nthere to patiently await
\nits resurrection
\nfrom a grave of silence \u00a0 ~
\n~ \u00a0 \u00a0’cause this one voice
\nwas created for a purpose
\nas an instrument to be strummed
\nagain and again
\nlike the strings
\nof the harp
\nuntil its sweet luring melody
\ncharms the ears
\nof each listener
\nwho would sooner or later
\nhear it
\nwithin the mist
\nof the cloudy murmur
\nand thereafter
\nthe seed of this one voice
\nwould become planted
\nand able to grow its mission
\nto bring about change
\nno longer laying fallow
\nas before \u2026..
\nbut now the voice of the many<\/p>\n
