at the dawn \u2026 \u00a0 the awakening
\nof this new year
\nfresh as the newly born \u00a0 ~
\njoyously springing forth
\nfrom the baptismal water
\nthat makes up
\nthe river\u2019s flow
\nI affirm my commitment
\nto ascend above
\nthe murmuring mob
\nalways
\nwhining \u00a0 ~
\ncomplaining \u2026..
\nblaming another
\ndemanding
\nnatural rights
\nunder the stars of heaven
\nwhich I \u00a0\u2026\u2026
\nam
\nadmittedly
\nof the same ilk
\nand I
\nam
\nno better
\nthan anyone else
\nI’m nothing special
\njust a human
\nbut for once
\nI wish to choose
\nout of love and necessity
\nfor all humanity
\nthe uplifting
\nof our well-being
\nas a whole
\nwhere you and me
\nwould become more …..
\na doer
\nwho is a leader
\nthrough word and deed
\nfollowing in the footsteps
\nthe spirit
\nof those like Gandhi
\nMother Theresa
\nMandela
\nMLK Jr
\nRosa Parks
\nas well as
\nthat lent out slave
\nnamed Moses Grandy
\nwho paid for his freedom
\nthree times before getting it
\nwhile running boats
\nalong the Great Dismal
\nSwamp Canal
\ndug by the hands of slaves
\nour fellow human beings
\nand who could forget
\nthe man \u201cof the people,<\/em>
\n by the people,<\/em>
\n for the people<\/em>\u201d
\nLincoln
\nnone of them
\nlet their right of anger
\nthe justification of it
\ncloud their vision
\nget in the way
\nof what they had to do
\nto initiate change
\nif We the people<\/em>
\nwant change
\nthen We the people<\/em>
\nmust do more than
\nsuggest change
\nthrough the protest
\nof our grievances
\nWe the people<\/em>
\nmust show
\nour children
\nhow to travel
\nthe road to change
\nWe the people<\/em>
\nmust not only start
\nthe revolution
\nWe the people<\/em>
\nmust also
\nfind a way to
\noffer up the solution<\/p>\n

this is the awakening<\/p>\n

peace out<\/p>\n
