\nlater to be called stubborn

\nfrom behind
\nmy self-perceived
\nugly glasses
\nas this girl
\nbehind her glasses
\npossessing a special
\nkind of fortitude
\nway\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0 way
\nbeyond her peers
\n~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 and yet
\nas not
\nfully realized
\nback then
\nthat she
\nand me
\n~\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0despite being
\nbodily not the same
\nshe\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0 as a female
\nme\u00a0 \u00a0~\u00a0\u00a0 as a male
\nhad this kindred spirit
\nof mind and emotion
\nmotivated by\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\nsimilar desires
\nenvisioned a future
\nwell-known
\nto the restless sort
\nwanting much\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\nmuch more
\nthan growing up to live
\nan everyday life
\nakin to the culture
\nwithin some
\nsmall country town
\n~ ~
\nsomehow
\nas though\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\npredetermined
\nby the judgment
\nupon the strings
\nof the fates
\nwhile growing up
\n~\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0she and I
\nnever got to know
\neach other\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0 that well
\nand when our time came
\nas adults\u00a0 \u00a0~
\nto explore the world
\nour wandering nature
\nnot unlike the adventurer
\nstriking out
\nupon a greatly
\nanticipated expedition
\nwe both departed
\nchoosing\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0 to walk
\non different roads
\n~ ~
\nand then one day
\nas if planned out
\nby the gods
\nor at least Zeus
\nthe “Father
\nof Gods and men”
\nunbeknownst to me
\nthe mortal kind\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\nshe\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0 \u00a0now this woman
\nme\u00a0 \u00a0~\u00a0\u00a0 now this man
\nboth the sojourners
\nwithin a reality
\ncalled life
\nhave finally
\nstepped upon
\nthe same road
\neven if\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\nnot always
\nin the same place
\n~\u00a0\u00a0 doing so
\nafter having amassed
\nwithin our travels
\nextremely\u00a0 \u00a0~
\ncomplex lives
\nbut this time
\nnot again like
\nwhen we were young
\nregardless of the odds
\n~\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0and whatever
\nmy present or past
\nexperience
\nwith the many types
\nof women
\nthat have come\u00a0\u00a0 ~
\ngone
\nor stayed in my life
\nI do promise
\nsomehow\u00a0\u00a0 ~\u00a0 \u00a0someway
\nat least
\nas far as me
\nwith her
\nI\u2019ll do my best
\nto keep it this kind
\nof relationship<\/p>\n
