\ndon\u2019t really need to be cuddled
\nbetter not to hold me to tight
\nmaking me feel caged in \u00a0 ~
\nI\u2019ve got things to do
\nplaces to see,
\nlearn and know what I can
\nmaybe give more than I took
\nbefore the darkness sets in \u00a0 ~
\nI have changed with age
\njudging and forgiving others
\nnot high on my list
\nlistening and understanding
\nbrings way more release
\nmore relief I\u2019ve found within
\nthe process of acceptance \u00a0 ~
\nI\u2019ve grown tired of the IQ kick
\nwhether da Vinci, Einstein
\nor Shakespeare
\nwere more intelligent
\nwho freakin\u2019 cares
\none thing is for sure
\nthey all had the gift of curiosity
\nto know living and then create
\nwhat\u2019s novel through individuality \u00a0 ~
\nI\u2019m in older years being me
\nnot someone lost in the crowd
\ndaily putting in my time
\ncaptivated by the wave of norm
\nlike that complacent drone
\nbegging a fraction of self-worth
\nsome mention of once was
