is the trumpet ready to sound
the moment seems nearer
than others may think
or are afraid to say so
they may not want to admit it
~ offering the excuse
we don’t want to because
it’ll stir a panic and it probably
won’t happen anyhow ~
whatever the reaction
lovers of DEMOCRACY
OUR<\/em> resolve for IT
may soon be tested
will WE<\/em> be prepared
when the puppet enforcer
Trump ~ and his minions
come knockin’ at the door
after declaring martial law
will WE<\/em> submit ~
go along with the crowd
join their ranks
and turn in a neighbor
or be defiant and go to prison
would WE<\/em> hide ~
pretend to play along
until WE<\/em> can run to escape
over some border
will some of US<\/em> stay behind
join the resistance and fight
take part in the REVOLUTION
for DEMOCRACY SAKE ~
lovers of DEMOCRACY
let’s not panic or piss ourselves
WE<\/em> should think about it
become prepared
have a plan TOGETHER<\/em>
and be ready to take action
before the trumpet sounds ~
