some milkweed pods ~ hanging
around in late summer
not yet flowered…. holding back
the fulfillment of their destiny
not being cooperative
with the butterfly
the monarch flies elsewhere ~
~ therein
no onlooker has the opportunity
to share the beauty
within the bond
formed
between
these two creatures
of nature
the milkweed and the butterfly …..
…… so be it for now ~ anyhow
