Lenovo ThinkPad Z61t

I’m in the process of writing my 5th book called Black Lives DO Matter: One & Only Race ~ THE HUMAN RACE. In the tradition of the previous 4, this book is being written with the assistance of my trusty little black laptop Lenovo ThinkPad Z61t. It is my version of the typewriter of old that Hemingway wrote his books and articles on. However, over-time its usefulness is becoming limited because of its age. We live in the computer world, right? Things get outdated rather quickly nowdays …..

Well, yesterday during my rummaging through old things to spruce up my office, I found a part of the old shipping box that was cut out to save the information about my trusty little black laptop Lenovo ThinkPad Z61t. It was made in China on 9/26/2007. As far as an operating system it is still running Vista… lol. Of course I can’t use it safely online because it isn’t supported anymore, but I can still use it to write and create my art. I guess when I retire it, it will go next to my grandfather’s instruments on the bookshelf in my office.

Peace and love….. ~Keith Alan Hamilton~

In American History…… BLACK LIVES DO MATTER the Book

As I work to finish my new book of Images with Poetic Words – Black Lives DO Matter: One Race – THE HUMAN RACE to be published with the help of Inner Child Press (William S. Peters, Sr.) in February 2017 during Black History Month….  The book will feature my Slavery in America Image with Words Collection – Virginia Edition (http://www.keithalanhamilton.com/blog/?p=1655).  It will be dedicated to my dear friend and fellow social activist poet Janet Perkins Caldwell who recently passed away (gone too soon – a book dedicated to Janet that I wrote the foreword).  Fellow social activist artist and friend Deon Ballard will write the foreword to the book. As I do my final research, I found these two articles interesting and they bring to light out of the darkness information I was not aware of in American History or concerning slavery.

Emotion creates a so-called Mob Mentality Effect on Political Decisions

My thoughts on this article in the Washington Post – Donald Trump’s appeal was just perfectly summed up by Chris Matthews

If emotion blinds the minds of those making political decisions it creates a so called “Mob Mentality” effect that will turn its face on the core values that unite our country and what it stands for….. . The media contributes to this emotion fortified mob mentality because it is the only place those influenced by this type of mentality uses to educate and fuel political decision making for themselves.

We need a president that rises above the emotionalized frenzy of mob mentality, refuses to utilize it and makes decisions based on our country’s core values for the greater good of each individual that makes up the whole of America. Donald Trump does not represent this country’s core values, Hillary Clinton does……

The core values Donald Trump supporters are turning their face on are…… “equality, justice, and freedom for all.” These core values apply to individuals of every skin color, sex, gender, ethnicity, culture and belief in our country. Only Hillary Clinton is for advancing these core values as president of the United States of America.

If we belief in and stand for the core values of America “equality, justice, and freedom for all,” then when making a decision of who to vote for that best represents “We the people” of the United States of America, we need to use theses core values as a part of the process. These core values should be used as a “mental filter” to see clearly through all the emotionalized bullshit promulgated by the media for making our decision. Then not voting for Donald Trump becomes evident by his actions and voting for Hillary Clinton becomes easy based on her proven track record and proposed agenda as president to support this country’s core values.

Foreword to the 2016 World Healing, World Peace Anthology

12439435_10208186425634661_8708254590879525058_n

This vision of world healing and peace, if such a hope is going to come to fruition, it will take much struggle through effort in the human process of thinking. Firstly within reflective consciousness THE HUMAN-KIND will collectively have to change the way THE HUMAN RACE is perceived by all humans. Humanity as a whole must come to realize the benefit to all in creating a social environment that would decolorize the ideal of race to one race, THE HUMAN RACE regardless of skin color, sex, gender, nationality, ethnicity, culture, or belief. In so doing, humanity will be able to envision the wisdom of setting aside our differences and working together to heal and then preserve the human species transitionally into the future through a process of peaceful coexistence.

To even begin and then bring about such a global transformation in collective consciousness, it in my opinion must find its roots, its inspiration in the creative act. In where art is creatively used in a transitional manner exemplified in the poetic words of the artists found throughout the pages of this book. Art in its various forms creatively used through its powerful imagery to resurrect metaphorically from the darkness, the buried inhibitions and predispositions about the color of skin, sex, gender, nationality, ethnicity, culture, or belief that exacerbate societal ills. Socially embedded fear and bias stirred by genetic and environmental factors, how this all has a negative impact on the way fellow human beings are perceived by each other.

As a mystic and social activist performance artist, I fervently call out from a spiritual mindset to my fellow artists to use the creative act to bring these buried inhibitions and predispositions affecting humanity to the surface, to be aired out, and confronted in a way that will nurture the healing process of dialogue. If we as artists can initiate the process of open dialogue among We the people of planet earth, it could lead humanity to the acceptance of past transgressions, invoke a spirit to let go of the issues hindering human progression and then help We the people to move on as one.

How do we let go of the issues hindering human progression to develop a humanity that’s cooperatively engaged for the betterment of all THE HUMAN RACE?  We the people of the planet earth will have to accept that our kind, our species is nothing more than simply human. We must accept ourselves, not necessarily forgive and forget the lessons taught during the human experience. Humanity should learn to no longer bear the weight of quilt or feel remorse for living our lives the best we can regardless of the mistakes we’ve made as individuals or as a whole. We must come to understand that no one gave us an all-encompassing guidebook on how to live and survive or how to bring about a healthy, joyful, prosperous and peaceful world. We must realize it is a waste of time and energy to cast blame or point a finger in an attempt to somehow rectify past transgressions against each other and other living creatures. If such a vision of world healing and then peace is to transpire, We the people will have to become perceptually more positive towards our kind. We’ll have to become more pro-human minded. If we want the intolerant to become more tolerant, we must lead the way by patiently demonstrating the behavior of tolerance towards them as they undergo the process of transformation.

If this transformation is going to happen we must take the lead by proactively exhibiting a pro-human mindset, not only through words, but through actions as well. Only then will our united vision for world healing to bring about peace make substantial headway along its transitional journey. To make progressive headway, We the people need to see the wisdom and then initiate the forming of a cooperative partnership with our servant(s) the government(s). Such a partnership will provide the necessary foundation and means to come up with flexible and transitional concepts that lead to valuable practices, implemented with the assistance of innovative technologies for the purpose of improving the overall well-being of humanity. In my first book in the series Nature ~ IQ: Let’s Survive, Not Die!, I suggested for these concepts and practices to be of benefit to humanity, they need to be centered ideologically around 5 freely accessible and affordable services: energy, information/education, transportation, health care and housing. Freely accessible and affordable services such as these will uplift the spirit of humanity making us all overtime more positive and productive contributors and less of a burden on society. This will not only bless us with the ability to help ourselves, but give us the time and resources to help others. In turn as we help others, they will help others help themselves, on and on through a reciprocal process of healing. Therein this process of healing keeps building in momentum and transitioning until the transformation of We the people becomes healthy, joyful and prosperous. Ultimately creating an environment of well-being that’s void of the trials and tribulations which held the world captive to anger, hatred, strive, illness and pain. At such a time, the wind then will howl no more due to the storm; ‘cause the wind will be saturated with the sweet music of peace.

I end this foreword with the following poetic words …..

peace not violence
not just a dream
in a far away
some-day reality
but a real goal
to be had  ~
an ideology
for living
a global
social environment
created by
and for …..
ALL of THE HUMAN RACE
regardless of skin color
sex
gender
nationality
ethnicity
culture or belief
a global
social environment
of PEACE
only can be achieved if ~

for the sake of those like me ~ born free

I was born free   ~
the same year ….
as the ’57 Chevy
how cool
as my generation
would say
my last name
Hamilton
a great American surname
like a founding father
who may have been shot
because of being
a bit prideful
but was able to grasp
the full ideal of freedom
as a young man
never to be a believer
in slavery
nor owned
another
human being
my Scot Irish grandfather
and father
taught me
the meaning
of
don’t
tread
on me
as they knew it
my dad served
in the Korean war
and like his father
my brother was in the Navy
I graduated from high school
during the time
after Vietnam
where there was no draft
I didn’t even have to register
even though
I grew up a middle of the ‘70’s
child …..  carefree
and hopeful
all the ills of the world
would be solved
by the time I was old   ~
~   only
‘cause
I was raised
in the land of the free
was I lucky enough
to be so gullible
and for that
kind of freedom
I am truly appreciative
of all those
who have lost
their lives ……   defending
my right to be free

in remembrance of them
and what they’ve done
men and women
I fly Old Glory
on Memorial Day
as is the tradition
of my country
to honor true heroes
and the sacrifice they made
for the sake of those

The Women ~ Happy Mother’s Day MOM!

I  have an online flip-book of poetry in the process of being finished called The Woman ~ as perceived by The Man (soon to be in print).  The book contains art from four women who are world class artists, Denise Denomy, Regina A. Walker, Azzi Kalili-Williams and Era Tak.

The poem that follows to my two daughters is from the book. The poem embodies the loving spirit of my mother which the love my mother gave me, I in turn tried to give to my daughters when they were growing up. These days my 2nd daughter is a mother herself and I see the spirit of my mother’s love in her towards her children.

Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom and my daughter …. I am truly grateful for all The Women in my life.

The Women

oh my two
sweet   ~   little
adorably precious
and beautiful girls
your daddy
will love you
~   forever
as you become
the women
I’m hoping
yes   ~   praying
you both want
and shall be
oh   ~   how
they did love
to sit upon my lap
snuggly dressed
for bed
wearing those
cute footy pajamas
~   acting enthused
and showing
that nightly anticipation
all from being used to
having this father
with daughters
~   bonding ritual
of which now
many years later
is held tightly in
this ageing
man’s memory
~   me being
appointed the honor
by them   ~
as if I was
some master storyteller
to exuberantly
read aloud
~   while they’d
melodiously joined in   ~
singing the words
written within
a children’s book
that began with its title
I’ll love you forever,”
~   and
after which
as we’d finish
they’d both giggle
then hug me dearly
~   boy oh boy
I gotta tell you
during such
cherished moments
with my daughters   ~
I’d reflect back
to my boyhood
where I’d fondly recall
the love of my mother
who to me   ~
embodied
the character
of the woman
lovingly portrayed
within the pages
of this book
wherefore and within
such love
I was given
I’d hope and pray
with all my might
both my girls
shall be
as the woman
my mother was
and still is  ~
by experiencing from me
how I was loved
and cared
for
by her as a son
~   and in like manner
I’d promise
to do the same
for both of them
as my daughters
saying   ~
again and again
to myself   ~
oh my two
sweet   ~   little
adorably precious
and beautiful girls
your daddy
will love you
~   forever
as you become
the women
I’m hoping
yes   ~   praying
you both want
